The Background
The company was formed back in 2002, the founders brining over 35 years of technical and business expertise from Defence, Government (local and national), Mobile Operators, Supply Chain and Finance Sectors. This knowledge became the basis for Portfolio Software.Back in 2002 we wanted to change the world and put trust back into the software industry by keeping to promises made at the start of a project and delivering value for customers. These tenets have not changed, in fact they have expanded. Changing the world of IT is no easy task, gaining the trust of clients is even harder. Delivering on promises is not easy in the software industry which is why we decided to make things a little easier, internal processes and first class people were to become the key to success.

The people are our key strength and asset. They are the ones that deliver on our promises. We have technical teams specialising in both Microsoft and LAMP (Open Source) technologies. Each Technical team is supported by Quality Assurance, Project Management, Project Support and Testing teams all of which are supported by a Technical Architect and Business Analysis.Our Training

Portfolio Software has expertise in Business, Technical, Testing and Support. We have two offices in the UK and one office off-shore. A typical project will require a project manager (full or part time), technical and business resource. The size and shape of the team will be dependant upon the type of project. All our projects are supported by a core team of support staff providing Quality Assurance (QA), Change Control and process control.Our Skills
We handle the whole project lifecycle from initiation to requirements capture, design, development, testing, QA and release. Technically we have in-depth skills in both Microsoft and Open Source technologies, 90% of our staff have a minimum of 5 years specialist experience. We do not prescribe any specific methodology but do mix and match the best from each to suit the individual project requirement. We have sound knowledge and more importantly regular use of Agile, Waterfall, DSDM, Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), DSDM, ITIL and Prince 2.Our Offshore Teams
Portfolio has two offshore technical teams, they are dedicated Portfolio staff and should not be confused with outsource staff. Our offshore teams bolster the UK expertise for larger projects and all have a minimum of 5 years technical experience. When not required on client projects, their primary task is to develop the next generation of Portfolio generated products (more of these shortly).
